Mercer Traveling Trivia/Scavenger hunt sponsored by the Mercer Area Chamber of Commerce. More details to come............ 

** A photo DVD for the reunion is being produced featuring your old high school photos. Please e-mail reduced size pictures to : tiffany_hiller@comcast.net or send them by mail to 1016 Welbeck Cove, Collierville, TN 38017. Please identify people in the photo and year it was taken if possible. Also, if you could send along names of songs that were popular at the time the photo was taken. DEADLINE for submission is May 30th- so start digging through your old photos. We can't do the project with out your help!

June 28-July 6, 2008- Trivia/Scavenger hunt  sponsored by the Mercer Chamber of Commerce. $10 entry fee and all correctly completed sheets will be entered into a 50/50 raffle drawing. Sheets and list of rules will be available at the Chamber beginning June 28th.  A great family activity! 

June 28, 2008- Woods & Blooms Garden Club Tea from 2-4PM at the Century Pines Pocket Park downtown. Park Dedication from 1:30-2:00PM. 

June 28, 2008- Learn to Trap Shoot at the Northwoods Shooting Range from 11AM-2PM. FREE for all ages!

June 28, 2008- Mercer Library Presents local historian Bruce Cox. He will be giving a presentation about the history of mining at 12PM (noon) Pasties for sale the day of the event.

June 28, 2008Lions Spaghetti dinner at the Mercer Senior Center. 4-7PM 

June 28, 2008- Street Dance downtown in front of Around the Corner Pub with live music by Johny Trash along with food, raffles, and prizes. 6-10PM. Sponsored by the Mercer Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Northwoods Tavern League, & Around the Corner Pub. 

June 28 , 2008– Pie Sale at St. Isaac Jogues after the 6PM Mass. 

June 28, 2008- Mercer Lions Flea Market - every Saturday from 5/17-9/27. 9AM-2PM on Railroad Street next to the Town Hall. Crafts, flea market items, farmers market, and food concessions by the Lions/Lioness.  

June 29 , 2008– Pie Sale at St. Isaac Jogues after the 9AM Mass

June 29, 2008- MECCA ski club open house from 9AM-3PM. Bird Banding with Bruce Bacon from 6-9AM and a wild edibles nature walk with Zack Wilson from 10AM-Noon. 

June 29, 2008- NW Wildlife & Wetlands Club Turkey Shoot at the shooting range 5 miles south of town. 10AM-4PM 

July 1, 2008- Mercer Library Presents: Family entertainer Tom Pease will sing and play his guitar at 6:30PM.  The kids absolutely LOVE him!!!!!!  He also will be selling his CD’s . 

July 1, 2008- Dedication of (Charlie) Harper Street (currently Clinic Street) 8PM. 

July 2, 2008– Mercer Lioness Bingo at 6PM at the Community Center.

July 2, 2008– Barbershop Quartet performing at the Mercer Depot at 7PM for dedication of the Barbershop & School House. 

July 3, 2008- Turtle River Canoe/Kayak trip 2.5 hour trip down the Turtle River. Put in at Oxboy Lake Landing at 10AM / Take out Echo Lake Landing by Faith Lutheran Church with light lunch to follow in the parking lot. 

July 4, 2008- Run for a Vet benefit  5K run or 1 mile walk at 8AM sponsored by the  American Legion Auxiliary. 

July 4, 2008- Mercer's 4th of July Celebration.  Parade through downtown Mercer at 11AM (theme: Mercer Centennial) with lots of great food and fun at Carow Park afterwards including live music, arts and craft show with fireworks at dusk,. 

July 4, 2008-  Mercer Sno-Goers snowmobile watercross demos on Grand Portage Lake at Carow Park. 2-3PM.

July 4, 2008- Alumni Registration at the ball field across from Carow Park from noon to 3PM. When you register you will receive a class name tag which will give you FREE admission into the alumni dance on Sat. night. All School Reunion T-shirts will be on sale for $15. There will also be a class message board to leave messages or check for note and numbers left by fellow  classmates. 

July 4, 2008- Street Dance in front of Heart of the North after the fireworks with live music featuring Mystery Train.

July 5, 2008- Jail & Bail fundraiser sponsored by the Mercer Historical Society. "Prisoners" will be housed in the old authentic jail house building at the Depot in Mercer.

July 5, 2008– Alumni volleyball tournament at school. For more info or to participate, contact Mary Engler at the_sampler_chat@yahoo.com. Students will also be giving tours of the school from 9AM-noon on Saturday. Pictures and year books will be on display. 

July 5, 2008- Heart of the Community Gala from 5-8PM at the Community Center. This is the  Mercer Education Foundation's annual fundraiser.  Music by area musicians, great food, vintage wines and beers, silent auctions, and raffles. Also during the evening the new inductees into the Mercer School Hall of Fame will be honored. Tickets are $25/person when purchased in advance or $30 at the door. Ticket also includes admission to the Alumni/Centennial Dance. 

July 5, 2008- Mercer Alumni/Centennial Dance from 9PM-1AM at the Community Center. Everyone is Welcome! Music by  "The Issues" featuring Mercer alumnus, Mark Lacek.  Tickets are $5/person and is open to everyone! FREE admission with purchase of Gala ticket or to alumni that registered that registered on Friday the 4th.

July 6, 2008– Multi Denominational Church Service at Carow Park at 10AM. Pot Luck Picnic to follow.  Everyone Welcome!
