The Friends of the Mercer Library invite you to their annual Fall Celebration. Enjoy dinner, wine, raffles, and live and silent auctions.

Full Italian dinner!  Tickets $30 in advance or $35, at the door. Ticket includes appetizers, dinner, dessert, wine, beer and soda.

The Friends of the Mercer Public Library Fall Celebration and major fund-raiser is coming up quickly. Celebrate with us on September 22^nd from 5:00 to 8:30 at the library and community center in Mercer. Tickets are on sale now at the library.

 This year the dinner will be catered by Dianne Alexandroni, whose specialty is Italian cuisine. She will serve hors d oeuvres trays with cheeses, meats, olives and nuts. Entrees include Italian roasted chicken, Italian sausage and peppers, and 3- cheese ravioli, plus Caesar salad, mixed vegetables, potatoes, Italian bread, and for dessert tira misu and cannoli. Wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages are included in the dinner price. Dinner will be served on platters at the tables, so no more waiting in line.

 Social hour begins in the library at 5:00 allowing plenty of time to check out all the great raffle baskets and auction items. New this year will be a wine pull raffle—an exciting event where everyone wins.

 Dinner will be served at 6:00 followed by the live auction. Danny O’Sullivan is back in the area and will to be our auctioneer. Twenty items will be auctioned off live with another 40 available in the silent auction.

 As always there are so many unique items from individuals and businesses in both the silent and live auctions with more coming in daily. How about a gourmet dinner and cruise for six with Mike and Gail Ondresky on Trude Lake. Or consider a week’s vacation in Scottsdale Arizona at John and Mary Swift’s casita. Or a few nights or a week at Thiede’s mountain cabin in Fancy Gap, VA. The Mosquito Authority has donated 5 treatments and many restaurants and businesses have donated gift certificates.

 Tickets may be purchased at the library for $30 before the event or $35 at the door. Book basket raffles will be on display two weeks before the event, and raffle tickets may be purchased then. Auction items will be set out in the library as they come in.
