Join us in honoring the pioneering men and women who have preserved the history of Manitowish Waters, and explore the town’s history of environmental leadership. The seven community members honored will comprise the inaugural class of Manitowish Waters Leaders of Historic Preservation.
Following the awards, local historian Jim Bokern will share newly discovered research revealing Manitowish Waters’ robust and unique environmental history.
The evening includes a reception with hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. The evening is sponsored by the North Lakeland Discovery Center and Manitowish Waters Historical Society. Admission for this event is free, while donations for beverages and hors d’oeuvres would be appreciated. Seats may be limited, so plan to arrive early! Program will be held at the Discovery Center Main Lodge.
