If a round of golf sounds like a wonderful way to spend a summer afternoon, but you don’t know a five iron from a wood, Fe University has just the class for you. Beginning Golf will he held on four consecutive Wednesdays beginning May 23rd from 5 to 7 PM at the Gogebic Country Club in Ironwood, Michigan.

This four session, eight-hour course will cover all the basics from stance, grip and swing to chipping, putting, rules and playing the course. Clubs and golf balls provided. Students will have plenty of opportunity to practice their stance, swing with various clubs, and culminate the class by playing several holes on the course. Students must be physically able to walk around the golf course and swing golf clubs.
Instructor Nancy Osier has enjoyed the game of golf for over 30 years. She has golfed competitively throughout the Upper Peninsula, has been the UPLGA Senior Champion two times and has won numerous Gogebic Country Club Championships.
The class will meet on Wednesdays, May 23, 30, June 6 and 13 from 5pm to 7pm at the Gogebic Country Club, 200 Country Club Rd, Ironwood, MI 49938. Class fee is $30 with a $5 discount for those registering by May 9th. In addition, there will be a $20 greens fee for the four sessions. Total cost for the four classes is $50 ($45 if payment received by May 9th). Class size is limited. Register early to ensure your spot and receive the discount.
