Take the mystery out of double wall basket construction with this two day class. First, learn how to weave a cathead base for the inner basket using space dyed reed. When turned upside down, the base of a cathead basket looks like the ears of a cat. Then, attach the outer wall of the basket in natural reed, and use continuous weaving techniques to weave up the sides. The spiral design that forms will be overlaid with dyed reed to make a striking embellishment. Finish with a beautiful hand-carved oak handle.
Approximate dimensions: 7 inches tall (excluding the handle) and 9 inches in diameter. Class includes all materials, a pattern by Susan Coyle, and use of instructor’s tools. Long time basket weaver Dianne Mockler of Park Falls, will guide you every step of the way.
