Mary Burns is an award-winning fiber artist, creating weavings that reflect the hues and patterns of the natural world. Her jacquard loom allows her to craft her work in great detail, vibrancy, and character. She also weaves custom-designed rugs and wall pieces in addition to felting, natural dyeing and eco-printing. Mary’s most recent project is the Ancestral Women Exhibit, which includes woven portraits of an elder from each of Wisconsin’s 12 Native tribes and 12 complimentary weavings. She teaches tapestry and other fiber art techniques. Mary and her husband John Bates lead wildflower, birding, and natural history hikes, paddles and discussions.
LOLA will make every effort to keep students and teachers safe with social distancing and sanitizing procedures. Class date and time subject to change.
