The day will include a cookout fundraiser by the Hurley Green Team 4-H Club and the market will be hosting our annual fall themed pie social, serving pumpkin, apple and other fall harvest pie with coffee and apple cider.

Kids activities will include a Make & Take Craft. They will be making Monster Magnets. There will also be Pumpkin Bowling. Yes, come and try bowling with a pumpkin, to knock down Butternut Squash (pins)!

There will be a Largest Pumpkin Contest, open to everyone in the area. Bring your largest locally grown pumpkin and enter to win a prize. Pumpkins will be measured in size, not weight.

All activities begin at 10:00 am and Costume Judging will be at 12:00 noon, along with our 50/50 Raffle Drawing, and Winners of the Best Scarecrow and Largest Pumpkin Contests.

Be sure to visit our two Red Barn Little Libraries and stock up on free books for your fall and winter reading time.

What’s in Season at the Market? Our vendors have some wonderful pumpkins for decorating your home, carving or painting, and cornstalks for decorating along with some colorful ornamental corn and gourds for decorating. You will also find several varieties of squash and pie pumpkins for making fresh pumpkin pie. There’s some great fall fruits being harvested, apples, pears, plums, and even watermelon. Don’t forget the fall vegetable harvest of eggplant, red and green cabbages, carrots, beets, peppers, onions, garlic, tomatoes and a variety of greens.

The Iron County Farmers Market accepts SNAP at all vendor tables with qualifying foods, and we have grant funds to double your bucks, just see the market manager on how to use your SNAP benefits at the market. Many of our vendors accept WIC Farmers Market Coupons, look for their yellow sign to identify them.

The Iron County Farmers Market is located on 10th Ave. North, just off Hwy 51 North in Hurley, Wisconsin. We are open on Wednesdays from 3:00 – 6:00 pm and on Saturdays from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm through Oct. 13th.
