Join LOLA’s McCall for a follow along “plein air” painting half day workshop. Learn the basics of landscape oil painting while you create a winter landscape of snowy background trees with birch trees in the snowy foreground, focusing on color mixing and temperature. Plein air means painting outdoors, however, we will be using the big, beautiful gallery space in the LOLA building, instead of braving the cold. Using water based oil paints, it’s a great beginner/intermediate course. No experience necessary. All supplies and materials will be provided.

Participants should wear painting clothes (paint will stain fabrics) and bring any beverages or lunch /snacks you may need for four hours of painting.

Instructor’s bio: Before starting as LOLAs Marketing Coordinator two years ago, McCall was a feral stay-at-home mom to two young kiddos. Before that, she was a K12 Art teacher and restaurant manager. She is an avid painter, inspired by artists such as Dali, Escher, and Dr. Seuss.
