LOLA Basket Weaving – Moose or Bear in the Pines – in Gallery with Dianne Mockler
Basket Weaving – Moose or Bear in the Pines – in Gallery with Dianne Mockler

Adorned with a moose head or a running-bear basket buckle, this “In the Pines” basket is the classic Northwoods décor accent. Perfect for corralling mittens or magazines, the stately pine trees are woven as overlays after the basket is completed.
All weaving levels are welcome, including beginners. Long-time basket weaver and fiber artist Dianne Mockler will share many hints and tips throughout the class.
While the weaving is straightforward and beginner-friendly, creating all seven pine tree overlays takes time. Day one covers weaving the basket and an overlay demonstration; day two focuses on finishing the overlays. Those wishing to finish at home may opt to attend just the Thursday session.
Class fee includes a pattern by the designer (Ronda Brugh of Rochester, Indiana), all materials, and use of the instructor’s tools.
The basket measures approximately 15 inches across at the top, 6 inches wide, and stands about 12 inches tall, excluding the handle.
Please bring a plastic dishwashing tub or bucket, an old towel, and a lunch.
Wear clothes that can get a little wet.
