MECCA Trails Live Ski Race
Classic – 30K
NEW THIS YEAR! The MECCA 30K is designed to challenge serious skiers, both classic and skate. The two-lap course starts by the chalet hemlocks and traverses through the majestic forest and glaciated MECCA Trails. Skiers will be moderately challenged by the terrain as they climb drumlins, skirt eskers, circle kettles, but they will also be treated to one of the best views of the Turtle Flowage. A ski experience that is worthy of a second look. Virtual event skiers keep and self report their time.
All participants will receive a nordic ski hat commemorating the event. Immediately after the race, skiers and volunteers of the live event will enjoy a pasty lunch while winners receive their awards.

Prizes will be awarded to the fastest male and female overall, and will be awarded to the fastest male and female in each category: (up to 19, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s+).

The Flowage 15K showcases the beauty of the MECCA Trails ending through upland hardwoods and pines, spruce and cedar wetlands, and crossing the Little Turtle River Flowage. The entire trail system is groomed with a track set for classic striders and rated moderate to advanced with numerous hills. Virtual event skiers keep and self report their time.
All participants will receive a nordic ski hat commemorating the event. Immediately after the race, skiers and volunteers will enjoy a pasty lunch while winners receive their awards.
Skate – 15K
The Flowage 15K showcases the beauty of the MECCA Trails ending through upland hardwoods and pines, spruce and cedar wetlands, and crossing the Little Turtle River Flowage. The entire trail system is groomed with a flat lane for skate skiers and rated moderate to advanced with numerous hills. Virtual event skiers keep and self report their time.

Classic – 5K
The Claire d’ Loon 5K Classic Tour will start by following the Flowage 15K race course for the first 1.75 K and then branch off using trails on the eastside of the bridge crossing. The Claire d’ Loon 5K is a favorite of younger skiers, families and first time racers. The tour course is generally flat with intermittent rolling hills and rated easy to moderate. Virtual event skiers keep and self report their time.

Awards: 5K
Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female students and the faster male and female adult skiers.
