Discover the art of oil painting with this beginner-friendly class taught by talented artist Maureen Luzenski.

Skillfully guided by Maureen, this class will allow you the opportunity to capture the charm of the American Avocet—one of the most dazzling and comical shorebirds, known for its long, upturned bill and graceful feeding motions. Using water-based oil paints on an 8×10 prepared surface (provided in class), Maureen will guide you step by step to create your masterpiece.

All supplies are included. Please bring a lunch, as we’ll take a short midday break. Reserve your spot today and let Maureen help you discover the joy of painting!

  • If a class is canceled a full refund will be issued.
  • Refunds will not be issued after the registration date closes.
  • Beginning January 1, 2024, students who request a refund prior to the registration deadline will be given the option of receiving the full amount in the form of a gift certificate for future classes OR a refund for the balance minus a $5.00 service fee.

Artist Bio

Maureen Luzenski has been an oil painter for many years. When she retired, she became an instructor for Nicolet College for special interest classes teaching oil painting in both Rhinelander and Tomahawk for eleven years. She also now teaches her own classes in Tomahawk.

Maureen is also a member of the Lakeland Art League, has served as Vice President, and was also was on the board of directors for many years.  As a member of the Wisconsin WRAP program, she had three state awards from the Agriculture Department UW Madison.
