Rug Twining Class

Fiber artist Ann Wichmann is back to teach the traditional fine craft of rug twining.  Students will learn twining, which is a simple weaving technique using recycled fibers.  A small sized placement/table mat will be made in class.  Each student will receive a frame to keep, along with warming material and over-dyed cotton flannel for twining.  Students will learn about twining materials, how to prepare them, how to warp, twine and what can be made using this weaving technique.

Ann lives in Eagle River, WI and is an accomplished artist in all things fiber, including; sewing, rug hooking, knitting and needle punch.  Wichmann has been twining for the last 12 years.  Examples of Ann’s fiber art can be seen at Artistree Gallery Cooperative in Land O’ Lakes, WI.

A sharp scissors to cut fabric
