Description

Join Manitowish Waters Historical Society guides and NLDC naturalists as we journey along paths that link centuries of Northwoods histories. Departing from North Trout Lake while follow the traditional Ojibwa portage linking the Chippewa and Wisconsin Rivers, we will discover historic railroads, homesteads, and an early cranberry farm. Learn the natural history along the route and the impact of the Youth Conservation Corps on area trails and natural resources.  This 3.5 mile moderate hike will be mostly on trails with some uneven ground and brush.

Registered participants will be contacted via email with more information on this program.  Registration is required by 10/23/2024.  $30/Non-Member and $25/Member of the NLDC or MWHS.
