Do you need a creative recharge during the doldrums of winter?  This fun watercolor workshop will get your artistic juices flowing again.  We’ll revisit classic watercolor techniques such as wet-in-wet, glazing, color, and fresh, expressive brushwork.

In this hands-on class, your instructor will demo these techniques and show you how to apply them to your own “toolbox” of skills.   Afternoons are for your own quiet painting time, with individual guidance from Jane, at your own pace. We’ll also view art videos for an extra dose of artistic inspiration.

Instructor Bio:

Jane Barnard is a highly skilled and supportive teacher, a member of the Wisconsin Watercolor Society, Wisconsin Visual Artists, and Wisconsin Plein Air Painters.  She has a master’s degree from Marquette University.  Her studies have included the University of Paris (Sorbonne), the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and workshops from master watercolorists.

Jane is a passionate painter and teacher, and is especially gentle and helpful in encouraging those wanting to stretch their artistic vision and skills.  She teaches at The Clearing in Door County,  Dillmans Creative Art Center in Lac Du Flambeau, WI, The Hub in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, among others.  She has led two Art Workshops to Provence, France, and she is also one of the Artists-in-Residence at The Lemon Tree House 2-week workshop in Tuscany, Italy in May, 2020.

A note to returning students: this workshop includes some new material.  Do come back to continue to develop your own creative style with Jane as your guide. You’ll also have fun and enjoy the camaraderie of kindred spirits.
