Northwoods libraries offer FREE access to online courses
Iron and Vilas Counties, Wisconsin – Learning never stops. Whether you’re looking for college-level, professional development, or personal enrichment courses, the public libraries in Iron and Vilas Counties now offer free access to hundreds of online courses through Gale Courses.
Gale Courses offers access to professional online learning courses that are available anytime, anywhere. The courses are free for all library users, who can sign up and log in with their library card. Each course is six weeks long, and offers a certification of completion to those who successfully complete all the course activities. Users can sign up year-round, with new courses being added regularly.
“We’re excited to be able to offer Gale Courses to the residents of the Northwoods,” said Janelle Kohl, director of the Koller Memorial Library in Manitowish Waters. “I’ve taken one of these courses in the past and had a great experience.”
“There are so many options for everyone with Gale Courses. Whether they need to learn a new skill or do continuing education for work, or just want to learn something new for fun, our library patrons will find something for them,” said Shelly Knaack, director of the Presque Isle Community Library.
Each course is taught by an expert in their field, and library patrons can access their course at the library or on their home computers. There are hundreds of courses available on a wide variety of topics, including:
- Effective business writing
